Title | Grand finale and thanks to everybody involved |
Date | 11. July 2011 |
Artist | lab binaer |
Thanks al lot to Lauren, Kaja and Keiko for their last White Paper that says thank you to the lab binaer crew!
From the 25th of June until the 10th of July 2011, as part of »City of Peace«, the lab for media art »lab binaer« hosted the project »defined by ___« which was generously supported by LEW. During this time six artists, who each were guests in Augsburg for one week, created a total of 42 unique artworks.
At the grand finale on July 10, 2011 the original works were committed to Dr. Thomas Elsen of »H2 – Zentrum für Gegenwartskunst im Glaspalast« where they are archived for the time being and shown as needed.
»defined by___« was made possible through the work of the artists (Ramón Esono Ebalé from Equatorial Guinea, Takahiro Yamaguchi from Japan, Sara Starkström from Sweden, Keiko Uenishi from Japan, Lauren O’Farrell from England, Kaja Marie Lereng Kvernbakken from Norway) but also through to the engagement of curator Hans Chritian Grimm and the team of »lab binaer« around its project manager Stefan Schleifer.
Special thanks also goes out to Ruud Bijnen whose outstanding bachelor thesis about »projection mapping« delighted the visitors in the nighttime.
In the words of Ramón:
We love you!
